Hey guys just dropping a line... i'm finally in Kuwait and I'll be heading to Bagram, Afghanistan in probably 1-3 days.. I'm just waiting on a mil flight from here.... the food is good... bed isn't too bad.. however it's a lifestyle change as far as sharing a tent with 20+ people and of course the community shower thing is different... LOL! Hope all is well with you guys Later!

I probably won't check the forums as often as I will be able to check my email.. .because I have a 30 minute time limit.

Well, it took 8 days to get a flight out of Kuwait to Bagram. I'm finally here though. It actually isn't too bad. I've got a bhut I stay in which is cubicled off and I share a bunk with one other guy... who is apparently on a FOB hop so he's never actually there. The food is amazing... actually... I'm still not pigging out though because I want to shed some 30-40 lbs before I come home for my 2 weeks R&R. The job is pretty easy... I'm paid for 7/12's but I probably work 9 hours a day with sometimes a 2 hour lunch... LOL!! It's pretty sick. But.. I'm actually getting a laptop delivered to me and a 1 TB ext. HD so I can load some movies on it... some 700 movies.. LOL! Things can get pretty boring when work is slow... I haven't experienced a whole lot of boredom yet... but I can definately forsee it. One thing that sucked balls is my blackberry's Kuwaiti sim card doesn't work in afghanistan... so I tried to get an afghan sim card but the haji's wanted to keep my phone for 4 hours and me pick it up later... I didn't think so... lol. So I ended up buying some $70.00 phone over here and a $12 sim card with a $55.00 2500 minute calling card which in actuallity.. is only good for 20 minutes of state-side calls.. :'( Other than that... I'm going to start going to the gym 3 days a week.. if not everyday... and eat a lot healthier... so I expect to be in a lot better shape when I get back. This BAF (Bagram Airfield) is surrounded by mountains... we're litterally in a valley. The only way out of this place is by plane... LOL! The mountains are beautiful though... snowcapped. Finally got my laptop the other day! And now I'm using it in my bhut. Wifi isn't that bad at around 12am! during the day it is slow as balls!

If I stayed out here for 10 years (until I was 33 years old) I could retire. I probably won't do anything over a year... MAYBE two years. Taysir... I miss your warm body. LOL!!
